The books of Gaia Vince

Gaia Vince has published two novels. Read our review.

  1. Exploration of the Anthropocene

Undoubtedly, we are to blame for the ills of the world. A large data set and specific disasters hindered Life’s editor, Gaia, from keeping her job private. She traveled around the world to learn how people living in emerging realities live. What she found was fascinating.

She meets a man who paints the hills white to attract snow, and an artist who creates artificial glaciers in Nepal. In the Caribbean, he creates trash islands, while in Hawaii, he creates energized islands. New and innovative solutions to major problems are coming from the average person. These beautiful stories and the latest research support Gaia’s assessment of our species’ plight. Anthropocene studies are compelling, insightful, and optimistic about the future.

  1. Continuity

Human consciousness has undergone a major transformation. Culture has thrived since the Industrial Revolution. Gaia Vince argues in Transcendence that humans are the result of a symbiotic relationship between DNA, habitat, and civilization. She illustrates how our species differs from other creatures by utilizing four elements: fire, communication, elegance, and time. It was through these elements that the Space Age began. In transcendence, humans take over nature.
