The Budget Friendly Huawei MateBook D15

Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. may be a Chinese technology MNC. The headquarters is in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China.

Ren Zhengfei founded the closed corporation in 1987. The corporation primarily focuses on manufacturing switches. Furthermore, now it’s grown to manufacture appliances, building telecommunication networks in and out of the doors of China.

Huawei shocked the planet by surpassing Apple for the second position as the largest smartphone manufacturer in the world in 2018. They were only one position behind Samsung.

Huawei Laptops

Although Huawei smartphones do not have a strong suit worldwide, they perform on other products.

Huawei also manufactures laptops. Popular among many users, the laptop is extremely sleek and among the most straightforward performing laptops in Windows.

In this particular article, we’ll be talking about the  Matebook D 15.

Design and Features

The Matebook D15 comprises an all-metal chassis instead of plastic. This provides the MateBook a strength most of its rivals can’t match. Once you consider that metallic build and a 15.6-inch screen, it is light at 1.53 kilograms; check that to a sleek 16.9mm height. Furthermore, this machine is surprisingly portable.

You’ll probably want to put it into your bag because the MateBook D15 only lasts for 5hrs 50mins.

The disadvantage to the charging mechanism is that it only comprises the USB-C 3.1 socket, with the opposite three USB ports being Type-A. Furthermore, there’s also a full-size HDMI port and three 0.5mm combo jacks, but there’s no SD card slot or RJ-45 Ethernet adapter.

One oddity is that Huawei only has the 256GB SSD as a C and D partition. There’s space within the chassis for a 2.5in SATA drive too, but adding that is the work of a professional. You cannot upgrade the MateBook’s core spec.

Performance

AMD’s Ryzen 3500U processor may be a fine choice for a laptop at this price. Together with 8GB of RAM, it provides many everyday speeds, alongside occasional 3D acceleration once you need it. The MateBook D 15 scored 112 in benchmark tests, outpacing Intel’s Core processors in both video-encoding and multitasking tasks. You’ll expect to play older games at the screen’s default 1080p resolution, but AAA titles will likely be beyond its scope.

Then there’s the screen. According to the tests, the MateBook wouldn’t be your go-to choice for color accuracy. Furthermore, compared to pricier models, its colors are boring, an impact that is not enhanced by a matte finish.

You can’t expect the last word in keyboard quality at this price, and therefore the keys offer little within the way of tactile feedback. But three factors come to its aid, including generously sized keys, quiet operation, and a spacious, accurate trackpad. Furthermore, the complete HD webcam hides away between the F6 and F7 keys; it pops up once you need it. This has the advantage of privacy. Neither it is the best-quality camera, with compression evident to all the general public. It also means Windows Hello face recognition is out of the question, but Huawei integrates the fingerprint reader into the keyboard – an approach that works well.

Conclusion

The expected price of the Matebook D15 will be Rs. 54,990(approx).

The features offered by the Matebook D15 at the price point are hands down excellent. People from countries can name all sorts of alternatives for this laptop at the price. But, the matebook offers plenty at the given price point.
